Q1 MultipleChoice

Billy is the business analyst for her organization and she's working with a team to select a model. Richard doesn't understand why a model is needed for the requirements. Which one of the following statements best describes the reason to use a model?

Correct Answer: A
Explanation:

The statement that best describes the reason to use a model ismodels abstract and simplify reality. This is the main purpose of modeling, which is a technique for creating a representation of a system or a domain using symbols, diagrams, or other forms of notation12. Modeling helps to understand and communicate the complex and dynamic aspects of the system or the domain, and to analyze and validate the requirements. The other options are not statements that describe the reason to use a model, but rather statements that describe the characteristics or benefits of some models, such as B, which states that models restrict the effect, risk, cost, and schedule of the solution, C, which states that models define the solution in time, cost, space, and logistics, or D, which states that models show the complete solution in a non-functional slice of the organization.Reference:Business Analysis Expert Certification, CCBA | IIBA,Certification of Capability in Business Analysis (CCBA),Business Analysis Certification Competencies, CCBA | IIBA,The Ultimate Guide to Business Capability Analysis,A GUIDE TO THE BUSINESS ANALYSIS BODY OF KNOWLEDGE

Q2 MultipleChoice

A global organization is implementing a new Knowledge Management System and communication to the different regions has been informal. The approach is to convert the few remaining regions iteratively. The team has experienced variances at this point but feels confident in these final conversions. How should the business analyst (BA) communicate the information?

Correct Answer: C
Explanation:

The scenario describes a global organization that is in the process of implementing a new Knowledge Management System and has chosen to communicate informally to different regions. Fran is a stakeholder who wants to ensure that your business analysis approach and activities are compatible with the project activities. Of the following, what type of business analysis stakeholder is Fran?

Correct Answer: B
Explanation:

A project manager also collaborates with the business analyst to plan, monitor, and control the project scope, schedule, budget, and quality. The other options are not relevant to this scenario, as they describe different types of business analysis stakeholders, such as a regulator (A), who is a stakeholder who imposes constraints or standards on the solution, a sponsor , who is a stakeholder who authorizes and funds the initiative, or a domain subject matter expert (D), who is a stakeholder who has specialized knowledge or skills related to the business domain or the solution2.Reference:Business Analysis Expert Certification, CCBA | IIBA,CERTIFICATION OF CAPABILITY IN BUSINESS ANALYSIS

Q5 MultipleChoice

A business analyst is helping management determine which solution they should choose. As it happens that the organization can only choose one of the two solutions due to time and resource restrictions. Solution A worth $456,000 to the organization while solution B worth $565,000 to the organization. While solution A costs less, it is less risky and takes less time to complete so management elects to seize Solution

Correct Answer: C
Explanation:

Opportunity cost is defined as the loss of potential gain from other alternatives when one alternative is chosen. In this scenario, by choosing Solution A over Solution B, the organization is foregoing the additional potential gain of $565,000 - $456,000, which equals $109,000. This is the opportunity cost of choosing Solution A.
